About GT

So who am I? A lot of people have their “about” sections written from a third person perspective, but oddly enough I suspect many of these independent artists (like yours truly) end up writing these blurbs by themselves. Honestly I think the practice is a bit silly, so instead I’ll be representing myself thankyouverymuch.

You won’t find any “GT is the greatest rapper ever to grace the microphone” or statements like “Is Hip Hop Dead? GT doesnt think so. He is the sexiest man alive”. Nope, not here, no siree. So let’s just get it started then.

Hi. Greetings. Hello, how you doing, glad you could be here, etc. The name is Gifted Thought, GT for short. First things first, I’m not here to make any bogus claims or brag about anything. I’m just a 22 yr old college kid (that’s getting out real soon) I’m a late 20’s office drone here in Maryland that’s in love with music.

I’m not gonna front and say that I am Hip Hop. I used to say stuff like that when I was younger, but I realized it doesnt matter what genre or culture I’m labled under, I’m just tryna make some good music. And well, in case you can’t tell by now, I do this primarily through rap.

So what do I rap about? Basically anything that I’ve experienced or believe in. My music is simply my primary source of expression. I’m not tryna be street. I’m not tryna be cool. I’m not tryna be anything. I just put it out there. I touch upon everything from my faith to my childhood to my relationships to my social/political views. So in that sense, I’m unique, just like everyone else. Heh.

Seriously though, if you are feeling my music, or can relate to it, or appreciate it, then I thank you for listening and encourage you to keep doing so. On the other hand, if you don’t like me or my music, then feel free to never listen again haha. Either way, don’t be too shy to leave a comment or two.

OK. Well, that’s it for now, and I’ll probably heavily revise this section some time in the near future.

Peace,
GT

It was great to hear you do your thing at the Lighthouse Coffee event. I picked up your work, and I’m really impressed on how you put it together.

I played keyboard for Bo, who sang last friday. Don’t know if you remember who I am.

Most stuff I hear, everything seems rushed, like they had to have it on the album. But, I enjoyed your album. Keep up the good work.

I’m glad you’re praising God with your music. It makes you appreciate not putting God’s music in a box.
