Soul Music
I’m not going to get into a discussion over the supposed controversy of Rob Bell. All I’m going to say is that he’s said some things over the years that have eloquently expressed exactly what I was learning, feeling, and experiencing. This video was, and still is, a prime example of that (in all it’s internet-uploaded, copyright-infringing glory).

It’s a simple concept really – that God’s Love is like a song, one that has been stamped on my heart long ago. And over time, I revisit the song… perhaps picking up on it’s nuances and reveling in it’s beauty.
I had the opportunity to see Yo-Yo Ma in concert earlier this week. I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I was able to fully comprehend what he was doing. Nor could I fully appreciate the mastery of his artistry. But what I took away from it all is that Yo-Yo Ma is wholly in tune with his music. When he plays, it completely envelopes him, springing forth not necessarily by choice but rather by unavoidable expression. He looks as he could give a flying fish sauce who is in the audience. The music just pours out of him, regardless.
… I too hope to one day be so in-tune with my song that I’m moved to the point where my soul must sing.
