New Song, Huge Announcement

February 22, 2007

So as many of you who personally know me may already know, I’ve been busy at work putting together a mixtape to be released in the near future.

As of right now, it’s slated to be released in two or three weeks. Shooting for an early March release. It’ll be destributed mostly via DL so you can get a copy of all the songs that way. More details are to follow so check back often!

It’s going to have some exciting features and some good ol fashioned great music. To commemorate this special event, here’s a preview of one of the singles from the mixtape.

out with the old, in with the new

February 19, 2007

today, the friendly folks at guitar center had a big presidents day sale. I went over to the Glen Burnie store near my school and decided to have a look around. I wasnt looking for anything in particular, and wasnt exactly in the mood to part with my money but it inevitably happened.

for the first time, I saw the emu 0404 USB 2.0 audio interface sitting on the shelf in person. Ive only seen it online… and I could hear it calling it out to me. Of course I just stood there dissapointed because it had a nice bright price tag that read $199.

Far East Movement & Ken Oak

February 15, 2007

for those of you who follow indie asian music, here are two super talented artists that collaborated for a track and video.

my take on the Far East Movement is that they are a super energetic, crowd moving, hard working buncha guys. from what ive heard, you dont know the FM crew unless you’ve seen them live. i hope to have that opportunity one day soon.
In terms of lyricism, they may not be the most complex or talented, but they are true, and speak from their heart, and their music shows it.

Ken Oak is someone I remember hearing 3-4 years ago, with the song Ending Credits. I’ve seen him get a lot of exposure the last couple years and also hope to catch him live. He is part of a band called the Ken Oak Band, and does something he dubbed cello rock. It’s good stuff. I definately recommend you to give him a listen.

Anyways, here’s a link to their newest video. It’s a bit on the creepy side, but wonderfully produced and a good watch nonetheless.

Hello World

February 13, 2007

Hey everyone, how you doing? This is the official opening of GiftedThought.com, and I’m real excited. Theres a lot planned and in store for the next few weeks, so check back every so often to see what’s new. Basically this is how its going to work, I’ll update this main page with a post about what’s new when anything has changed, along with assorted random posts. I’m still a bit unsure as to the scope of the blog portion of this site, but I imagine that it will be sorted out as we go along.

For now, I encourage you to check out the different sections of the site, leave comments (by clicking on the title of the post), etc. Right now, it’s really all kind of bare bones but as I said, hopefully that will change very soon. Alright, that’s it for now, but take care and God Bless.

ps. I’ll leave you with this little bit of entertainment….

RIP James Brown.
